It has been a really long wait but cricket will return to Loperwood Park on Saturday 11th July with an inter-club game between Team Manning and Team Lavelle while on Sunday 12th July, a second game with Team Greasley taking on Team Bailey, both starting at 1pm.

However, ALL of the following rules and playing conditions MUST be adhered to which will enable us to be secure and safe for you and everyone at the club so we can enjoy the cricket in the safest possible environment.

Calmore Sports Club Covid 19 Rules – 9 July 2020

To adhere to the ECB and Government Guidelines for recreational cricket to take place at Loperwood, your management committee will be introducing the following rules: 

  1. Entry and exit to Loperwood will be from the car park through the entrance by the changing rooms.
  2. Everyone at the club must sign in. The signing in book will be in the club house.  You will need to provide contact details for contact tracing if required.
  3. We ask that only club players/members and immediate family attend the venue. This will be our test weekend and the trialling of our Covid plans.
  4. There will be a one-way system operating within the club house.
  5. Entry and exit for the bar will be through the patio doors.
  6. Entry and exit to the lady’s toilets will be through the patio doors.
  7. Entry to the men’s toilets will be through the home dressing room and the exit will be through the away changing room
  8. Only 1 person should be in the toilets at any one time
  9. The bar will be open with bottle and canned drinks only. Plastic cups will be provided if you wish to drink out of a glass please bring your own.
  10. There will be no seating in the club house
  11. There will be no seating on the patio
  12. We ask you to observe the social distancing rules of 2 meters
  13. We ask that you always observe the maximum group size of 6
  14. Only card payments will be accepted at the bar
  15. We ask that you bring your own hand sanitiser. We will also provide sanitisation stations.
  16. There will be no changing or shower facilities.
  17. In line with UK Government guidance, we will not be providing food, including chocolate, crisps or ice creams. You are welcome to bring your own food.
  18. The nets will not be available on matchdays, with only exception to those competing in the match.
  19. All chairs and tables will be disinfected after use.
  20. We would encourage anyone attending Loperwood to report any infection of their households to the NHS Test and Trace system following your visit to Loperwood to limit the spread of the virus.

Calmore Sports Club Guidance for Players taking part in fixtures at Loperwood Park or when representing Calmore Sports.

To adhere to the ECB and Government Guidelines for recreational cricket to take place at Loperwood, your management committee request you follow the following guidelines regarding match play.

  1. Personal Hygiene measures carried out at home before and after cricket activity.
  2. Bring your own hand sanitizer where possible and maintain strict hand hygiene throughout the day.
  3. Travel only with your household or social bubble wherever possible, if not possible follow government guidance on car sharing.
  4. There will be no indoor changing rooms available so arrive ready to warm up or ready to play.
  5. On arrival please head straight to your designated outdoor area where your kit can be placed for the day – a club official will make you aware of this prior to arrival.
  6. Limit the sharing of kit as much as possible, if kit must be shared strict cleaning of hands and kit should take place before the kit is then shared.
  7. No sweat or saliva used on the ball at any time.
  8. Sanitize hands prior to the start of play, during all breaks in play & before consuming any food or drink.
  9. Players must always refrain from spitting or rinsing out their mouths.
  10. Please bring your own food and soft drinks to consume throughout the match as no teas will be available. Do not share food or drinks bottles at any time.
  11. Always adhere to 2 metre social distancing rules during both warmups and match play, except for two circumstances: wicket keeper standing up to the stumps and distance between slip fielders where you must be 1m+.
  12. Hygiene break every 6 overs/20 minutes where hands must be sanitized, and the ball cleaned with an anti-bacterial wipe (captains’ responsibility).
  13. Bowlers must not hand any personal items to the umpire, they should place them over the boundary line before starting their over.
  14. Only the umpires are allowed to touch the stumps/bails throughout the match.
  15. Batters run between the wickets in the designated marked channel which will ensure they adhere to social distancing.
  16. Maintain social distancing during wicket celebrations, drinks breaks and tactical discussions.
  17. Minimise sharing of the ball in the match by getting the ball back to the bowler without passing it around the field.
  18. When in the batting side and not on the field of play, always remain in groups of no more than 6 and/or remain 2 metres apart.
