The club are arranging for coaches to transport spectators to Lord’s on the day.
There will be two coaches for our trip with the pick up point at Calmore Industrial Estate with a 07:30 departure to arrive at Lord’s at 10:00. The return will be at 19:45 sharp.
The cost for the return journey will be £25 payable by 2nd September, once all of the seats have been sold there will be a reserve list who will be offered unpaid for seats from 3rd September.
Anyone wishing to book please send your name and how many seats you would like to Pete Lavelle on 07860 206008.
TRAINS
As you will see from the below – travelling by train on the day is really not advisable (and anyone who did take that option last season wouldn’t have been that keen either!).
However, if you do fancy it, here are details of trains from Southampton Central to London Waterloo.
The earliest train from Southampton Central to London Waterloo is at 06:35 (platform 2) train to Fratton. Change at Fratton to get the 07:41 which will arrive at Waterloo 09:23.
The next one is Southampton Central (07:24) to Basingstoke (08:07) – then a bus to Guildford to catch the 09:05 arriving at Waterloo 09:53.
There are no direct trains from Southampton Central to London Waterloo until 09:24 but that goes via Fareham, Havant and Guildford.
Alternatively … (and thanks to Tom Pegler for his guidance on this):
07:24 from Southampton Central to Basingstoke (08:07) – then Basingstoke (08:17) to Reading (08:44) – then Reading (09:15) to London Paddington (09:45) – which is fairly close to Lord’s too!
07:55 from Southampton Central to Basingstoke (08:42) – then Basingstoke (09:07) to Reading (09:33) – then Reading (09:41) to London Paddington (10:07)
You will need to get the London Underground, direct from Waterloo to St. John’s Wood on the Jubilee Line.
Or it’s half hour walk from Paddington or a 4 minute taxi ride
BY CAR
If driving is an option, there are car parking facilities both in the vicinity of Lord’s and further afield. You can check local NCP car parks at over 75 TfL stations around London, many of which have ample availability, by clicking here, enabling you to use London Underground to complete your journey to Lord’s. You can also find public car parks local to Lord’s at QPARK.
Both the Westfield Shopping Centres in Shepherd’s Bush and Stratford have large parking spaces which you can park for up to 24 hours. The Shepherd’s Bush outlet is a 15-minute Tube journey to Baker Street, while Stratford is a direct 30-minute journey on the Tube to St John’s Wood. MCC has no affiliation with Westfield and spectators’ using their car parks bear full responsibility for their vehicle.
Once again, the club is placing an order for hoodies and polos – this time in a grey colour.
The “Lord’s 22 … Back Again” clothing is available by placing an order at calmoresports@gmail.com and paid for by Monday 22nd August.
The size guide is shown – so look the part as Calmore Sports head back to Lord’s for a second time!
